In order to gain match practice, Robert Gumny switched to second division Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała on January 6, 2017 on loan for the remainder of the 2016/17 season , where the young player was promoted directly to the regular team. On March 31, 2017 (24th match day), he scored his first professional goal in a 2-1 away win against GKS Katowice . After 14 league appearances in which he scored two goals, he returned to Poznan in the summer of 2017.
