Robert Reimer

Robert Reimer (* 1967 in Luxembourg ) is a German opera, concert and ballet conductor . His conductors regularly take him to the most important opera houses, such as the Bavarian State Opera, the Berlin State Opera and the Deutsche Oper Berlin. As part of his work as a conductor and artistic director, he is regularly present on TV, radio or on CD and DVD.

Career

Robert Reimer was born in Luxembourg in 1967 and was engaged at the Hessisches Staatstheater Darmstadt (1991–1995) while studying in Cologne and Düsseldorf . There he assisted the general music director Hans Drewanz and gained his first experience as a conductor as Kapellmeister .

From 1991 Reimer worked as an assistant to important conductors such as Christoph Eschenbach , Sylvain Cambreling , Michael Boder , Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos and Marc Albrecht at the Salzburg Festival , as well as the opera houses of Paris , Brussels , Barcelona , Leipzig , Copenhagen , Geneva , Santiago de Chile or Antwerp / Ghent. This was followed by invitations to Cologne, Essen, Wuppertal, Leipzig, Copenhagen, Oslo, as well as to Düsseldorf and Duisburg, where he made his debut with Don Giovanni in autumn 2005 and then conducted many different operas as first conductor. Since then he has worked in the opera field with singers such as u. a. A. Denoke , D. Kuebler, R. Gorr, P. Petibon, R. Trekel, J. Johnson, M. Salminen and A. Dohmen together. Robert Reimer is also at home internationally as a concert conductor. a. to the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra , the HR Symphony Orchestra , the German Radio Philharmonic Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern, the Orchester Philharmonique de Strasbourg and the Royal Chapel in Copenhagen . Reimer made successful debuts at opera houses such as the Berlin State Opera Unter den Linden , the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Grand Théâtre de Genève , the Royal Copenhagen Opera , the Finnish National Opera , the Copenhagen Opera Festival , the Stuttgart State Opera , or the Gran Teatro del Liceu Barcelona . Reimer conducted operas such as Manon , the Freischütz , Eugen Onegin , the Magic Flute or “Katja Kabánova”, or ballets such as Nutcracker , Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty .

In the 2016/2017 season he conducted a. a. a production of Schubert's Winterreise by Hans Zender with the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie and Julian Prégardien at the Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg. A concert of this in the large broadcasting hall of the SR in Saarbrücken in the presence of the composer was broadcast live on SR2-Klassik, the CD of this winter trip was released in 2016 on the label " P.Rhei ". In 2016, a CD he conducted with the Danish soprano Susanne Elmark and the Sönderjyllands Symphony Orchestra was released on the Naxos label . In the 2017/2018 season he is guest conductor of the Berlin State Ballet and conducts a. a. all performance of Victor Ullates Don Quixote for the Staatsballett Berlin.

In the cross-over area he works together with Chris de Burgh , Ute Lemper , Till Brönner , Joja Wendt and Klaus Hoffmann .

CD and television recordings

There are several TV recordings of Robert Reimer's concert appearances, including the big final concert of the Copenhagen Opera Festival with the Malmö Opera Orchestra (2014 and 2015), which was broadcast live on the Danish television DRK, as well as the first night of the Classic Open Air Berlin (2014– 2017) and the Elbland Festival (2015-2017), both of which are broadcast by Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg RBB. In addition, his performances from the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Grand Théâtre de Genève were broadcast live on the French cultural channel Mezzo TV and the Italian classical channel Mondo Classica .
