Robert Ruder

Robert Ruder (born February 24, 1934 in Hugsweier, today the city of Lahr / Black Forest ; † August 13, 2015 ) was a German educator and politician for the CDU .

education and profession

After graduating from high school, Robert Ruder studied at the Scheffel-Gymnasium in Lahr at the Heidelberg University of Education . During this time he was first state and then federal chairman of the federal representation of students at universities of teacher education (BSPH). From 1961 he worked as a primary school teacher. From 1966 he was a teacher and later a police school director at the State Police School in Baden-Württemberg .

Political activity

Ruder was chairman of the Junge Union Südbaden. In 1970 he replaced Erhard Schrempp in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg , of which he was a member of the Offenburg constituency until 2001 . From 1973 to 1985 Ruder was also district chairman of the CDU in the Ortenau district .

In 1978, Prime Minister Lothar Späth brought him into the state government . As political state secretary in the Ministry of the Interior , he initially had no seat and no vote in the cabinet. After the state elections in 1980 , Ruder became State Secretary with a seat and vote in the Cabinet and at the same time State Commissioner for the Disabled. Even after the state elections in 1984 and 1988 , Ruder remained State Secretary in the Ministry of the Interior. Then he became president of the Baden-Württemberg State Sports Association, founded in 1973, for three years. Ruder therefore gave up his post as State Secretary with effect from July 11, 1990. His successor was Gundolf Fleischer .

honors and awards

In 1980 he was awarded the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany. In 1986 he received the Senator Lothar Danner Medal and in 1990 the Medal of Merit of the State of Baden-Württemberg . Among other things, he was an honorary member of the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences .

Family and private

Robert Ruder was a Protestant. He was married and had four children. Most recently he lived in Schwanau .
