Painting style

Robert Schaberl developed a style of painting very early on that revolved primarily around what he calls the central forms . He focuses on circles , reducing his painting to round shapes, which was already clear in his early photographic work. Through reflection , light mirroring and the application of several layers of color, the color and spatial effect of the picture changes depending on the perspective.

Reviews

In 1996, Wirtschaftswoche wrote about an exhibition with Robert Schaberl: "The event gives visitors an interesting approach to the current standpoint of the Austrian avant-garde."

The Stuttgarter Zeitung wrote in 2000: “Schaberls in oil paint and works painted wet on wet are also designed for the interplay of light, space and viewer. Movement arises both in front of and in the pictures themselves. There are constantly changing sensual-sacred interactions between the position of the viewer, the color and the lighting. The brushwork from the inside to the outside creates a radial structure. "

Andrea Madesta, Museum Director of the Museum Moderner Kunst Klagenfurt , wrote about his pictures: "[...] The large-format central forms fill the canvas and are magically attractive."

In 1986, at the age of 25, Robert Schaberl took part in an international art fair in Dallas for the first time . Since then his works have been shown at numerous renowned international art exhibitions , such as B. at Art Basel Miami Beach , Art Cologne , Art.fair 21 and Art Forum Berlin .
