Rolf Jähnichen

Martin Rolf Jähnichen (born May 11, 1939 in Helmsdorf , Pirna district ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1994 to 2009 he was a member of the Saxon State Parliament .

Life

After graduating from high school , he studied agriculture in Leipzig from 1957 to 1963 . He completed his studies with a degree in agriculture and then obtained his doctorate as such. From 1964 to 1970 he was employed by the Leipzig District Council , Agriculture Department (where he was responsible for mining). From 1970 to 1990 he was production manager and deputy chairman of LPG Neukirchen ( Borna district ). Jähnichen is Roman Catholic, married and has three children.

politics

Jähnichen joined the GDR CDU in 1981 and was a member of the party executive from 1989 to 1990. In 1994 he was elected to the Saxon state parliament in the constituency of Leipziger Land 1 . Before that, from May to November 1990 he was the first freely elected district administrator in Borna and from 1990 to 1994 district chairman of the CDU Borna. Since 2000 he has been a member of the CDU state executive committee and state chairman of the senior citizens' union . From 2000 to 2004 he was a member of the federal board of the Seniors Union. In the Saxon state elections in 2009 , he was no longer a candidate and left the state parliament in September 2009.

Ministerial offices

Jähnichen was Saxon State Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forests from 1990 to 1998 and then until 1999 Saxon State Minister for Environment and Agriculture.
