Rolf Terheyden

Rolf Terheyden , actually Rudolf Terheyden , (born January 29, 1926 in Osnabrück ; † October 15, 2016 ) was a German editor and publisher of the Bocholter-Borkener Volksblatt .

Life

Terheyden studied law and political science at the University of Würzburg , the University of Bonn and the University of Göttingen . In Bonn he became a member of the Catholic student association KDStV in 1948 . Ripuaria in the CV .

In 1957 Terheyden joined the management of J. & A. Temming-Verlag and in 1960 took over the management of the Borkener Volksblatt. From then on he was particularly interested in the regional and local daily newspapers in Germany. From 1966 to 1983 Terheyden was a member of the supervisory board of the "Standortpresse" (today the Association of German Local Newspapers ), 1972/1973 its chairman.

In 1976 he became a board member of the Association of Rhenish-Westphalian Newspaper Publishers . Terheyden was a member of the board of directors of the Federal Association of German Newspaper Publishers (BDZV) from 1984 to 1992 , and then deputy director for eight years. With his departure he became honorary president. As president of the BDZV, Terheyden was a member of the supervisory board of the current press-television company (APF), which is supported by over 160 newspapers .

Terheyden had been married to Beate Terheyden, the youngest daughter of the publishers Josef and Hete Temming, since 1957.

Act

The lawyer and notary Terheyden was active in many committees and foundations, such as the board of trustees of the Theodor Wolff Prize , the most famous award for German journalists. He was chairman of the donors 'association of the press , represented the interests of German newspaper publishers on the ZDF television council , was a member of the executive committee of the Federal Association of German Employers' Associations and was involved in numerous church committees. Rolf Terheyden was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit with a star by Federal President Richard von Weizsäcker in 1992 .

Terheyden was involved in numerous social projects in the Holy Land and was a member of the German Association of the Holy Land . In 1977 he was appointed Knight of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher by Cardinal Grand Master Maximilien de Fürstenberg and invested in the order on December 3, 1977 in Munich by Franz Hengsbach , Grand Prior of the German Lieutenancy . He received his doctorate as an officer and most recently as a grand officer.
