Roman Markowitsch Prutschai ( Russian Роман Маркович Пручай ; English transcription : Roman Pruchay; born February 13, 1991 ) is a Russian pool player .
Career
In August 2006 Pruchai won the bronze medal in the 8-ball discipline and the gold medal with the Russian team at the European Schoolchildren's Championships . A year later he became European student champion in 9-ball with a final victory against Bartosz Rozwadowski and European student team champion in the final against Austria. In November 2007 he won the bronze medal in 8-ball at the Russian men's championship . In 2008 he took part in the men's European championship for the first time and reached the round of 32 in the 14/1 endless competition, in which he was defeated by the Austrian Cetin Aslan with a scarce 124: 125. At the European Junior Championships , which was taking place at the same time , he was runner-up in 8-ball. At the Russian championship in 2008 Pruchai won the first-ever 10-ball competition with a 7-2 win over Yegor Plischkin and thus his first men's championship title.
At the EM 2009 he reached the round of 16 in the disciplines 14/1 endless and 8-ball and was eliminated there against Thomas Lüttich and Adam Skoneczny . In August 2009 he won the final against Jürgen Jenisy and Francisco Sánchez Junior European Champion in the disciplines 8-Ball and 9-Ball as well as Vice-European Champion with the Russian junior team. At the end of the year he reached the quarter-finals in the 14/1 endless at the Russian championship . In November 2010 he became the Russian 8-ball champion with a 7-1 final win against Vitaly Pawluchin . The day before, he had finished third in the 10-Ball. After he was not nominated for the European Championship in 2010 , Prutschai moved into the semi-finals in the 14/1 endless competition of the European Championship 2011 , including victories against Ralf Souquet , Serge Das and Andreas Gerwen , in which he beat Italian Fabio Petroni lost with 73: 125. At the Russian championship in 2011 he only took part in the competition in the 14/1 endlessly and was eliminated there in the preliminary round. It was his last participation in the Russian championship so far. At the Kremlin Cup 2011 he reached the quarterfinals.
At the Team World Cup 2010 Pruchay was part of the Russian team and reached the semi-finals with her.
