Romana Maláčová (born May 15, 1987 in Brno , ČSSR ) is a Czech pole vaulter .

Career

In 2006 Romana Maláčováden took part in the Junior World Championships in Beijing , where she was eliminated in qualification. In 2007 she reached the final of the U23 European Championships and finished twelfth there with a jump of 4.00 m. Two years later she reached the final of the U23 European Championships again and this time finished eleventh. She also qualified for the World Championships in Berlin , but dropped out in the qualification there.

Maláčová also qualified for the European Championships in Barcelona and retired there with 4.25 m in the qualification. In 2011 a tenth place followed at the student world games in Shenzhen, China . In 2012 she again took part in the European Championships , but dropped out again in the qualifying round, as well as at the 2013 European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg 2013. That year she finished fourth at the Universiade in Kazan and thus just missed a medal. Even at her third European Championships in 2014 in Zurich , she did not make it into the final, as was the case at the 2015 European Indoor Championships in Prague . This time she finished sixth at the Student World Games.

In 2016 she came eighth in the final of the World Indoor Championships and qualified for the European Championships in Amsterdam , where she failed to qualify. At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , she failed with 4.30 m in qualification. In 2017, she again achieved thirteenth place in the final at the European Indoor Athletics Championships with a skipped 4.45 m. At the World Championships in London , she was eliminated with 4.35 m in qualification . After having hardly competed in 2018, she was eliminated at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow in 2019 with 4.50 m. She also qualified for the World Championships in Doha , where she did not reach the final with 4.35 m .

In 2008, 2017, 2019 and 2020 Maláčová became Czech champion and in 2016 and 2017 indoor champion in pole vault.
