Rory Dames (* 10. February 1973 ) is an American football coach , and the -funktionär since the 2013 season , the franchise of the Chicago Red Stars in the National Women's Soccer League trained.

Career

player

Dames played for the football teams at St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights and the college team at Saint Louis Billikens when he was young . He then ran for a season for the Rockford Raptors team .

Trainer

In 1997 Dames returned to the St. Viator High School as head coach of the local girls' team and supervised it until 2005. In 2011 he took over the management of the then Red Stars franchise in the WPSL and reached the championship final with it who lost 2-1 to Orange County Waves in extra time . Something similar was repeated in the 2012 season: The Red Stars , now playing in the WPSL Elite , reached the championship final again and led there until stoppage time, but had to accept the late equalizer and finally lost on penalties.

At the end of 2012, the Red Stars announced that Dames would also act as head coach for the newly founded NWSL's premier season, which began in April 2013. Chicago closed the season with eight participating franchises in sixth place in the table and six points behind the playoffs.

Eclipse Select Soccer Club

Dames is also president of the Eclipse Select Soccer Club (also known as the Chicago Eclipse Select ), which has over 50 youth teams in the Chicago area .
