Vanessa Sue DiBernardo (born May 15, 1992 ) is an American soccer player who has been under contract with the Chicago Red Stars in the National Women's Soccer League since the 2014 season .
Career
society
During her studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign , DiBernardo ran from 2010 to 2013 for the college team of the Illinois Fighting Illinois . In 73 games for the Illinois, she scored 43 goals and prepared another 22 hits. In January 2014, DiBernardo was signed in fourth place by the Chicago Red Stars franchise in the college draft of the NWSL in the first round and made his debut there on April 19, 2014 in the home game against Western New York Flash . She scored her first goal for Chicago on May 23 in an away win over the Houston Dash franchise . In November 2015, she moved to the Australian W-League on loan to Perth Glory .
National team
DiBernardo made his debut in 2011 in the U-20 national team of the US Football Association and won the 2012 World Cup with this , where it was used in all six games of the United States during the tournament. From 2013 to 2015, she also played in five games for the US U-23. At the end of August 2013, DiBernardo was appointed to the squad of the US national team for the first time to replace the injured midfielder Megan Rapinoe , but was not used in the international match against Mexico on September 3.
