Roscoe is a municipality in Winnebago County in northern US -amerikanischen state of Illinois . Roscoe had 6,244 residents in 2000 and by 2009 the number had increased to 8,813. Roscoe is part of the Rockford metropolitan area and a suburb of Rockford . The current Mayor of Roscoe is David Krienke.

Roscoe is located on the Rock River in northern Illinois. The site covers an area of 24 km² (9.2 mi²) which is entirely land.
Interstate Highways 39 and 90 run on a shared route on the eastern edge of Roscoe . US Highway 20 crosses the town in a west-east direction .

In the official census from 2000 , a population of 6,244 people in 2,211 households and 1,740 families was determined. The population density at that time was 260 people per km².

Roscoe does not have a high school of its own , but you can choose between Hononegah High School in Rockton, IL and Harlem High School in Machesney Park, IL . The Prairie Hill Community Consolidated School District # 133 and the Rockford School District # 205 as well as the Harlem School District # 122 also serve Roscoe.
