Rossen Assenow ( Bulgarian Росен Асенов ; born September 3, 1990 ) is a Bulgarian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HK Slavia Sofia in the Bulgarian ice hockey league since 2004 .

Career

Rossen Assenow began his career as a hockey player at HK Slavia Sofia , for whose men's team he made his debut in the Bulgarian ice hockey league in the 2004/05 season . With the club he was able to win the national championship straight away . Also in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 he won the Bulgarian title with Slavia. He also won his country's cup in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 with the capital city club .

International

In the junior division, Asenov played for Bulgaria at the U18 World Championships in 2004 , 2005 , 2006 and 2008 in Division III. In 2007 he was on the ice when qualifying for the U18 World Cup in Division III. With the U20 team of the Bulgarians he took part in the World Championships of Division III in 2006 , 2007 , 2008 and 2010 , when he was voted the best player of his team.

For the Bulgarian men's selection , Asenov took part in the World Championships in Division II in 2009 , 2010 , 2011 and 2012 . He was also part of the Bulgarian squad to qualify for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver .
