Rudolf Virchow Prize (GDR)
The Rudolf Virchow Prize was a state award from the GDR . The prize was founded on November 10, 1960 and awarded for special achievements in the field of medical literature, medical technology and pharmaceutical production. Up to six awards could be made annually. The prize included a case medal and a pin.
The medal shows the portrait of Rudolf Virchow on the obverse and the national coat of arms on the reverse, two laurel leaves and above the words "Rudolf Virchow Prize".
