Rudolf Karl Krause (born March 30, 1907 in Reichenbach im Vogtland , † April 11, 1987 there ) was a German motorcycle and automobile racing driver .

He competed in Formula 2 on motorcycles from the DKW and BMW brands and racing cars .

Career

After the Second World War, Krause was one of the first pilots to start motorsport in the GDR . The races were often held on public roads and from 1950 to 1954 Krause was one of the top Formula 2 drivers alongside Edgar Barth , Arthur Rosenhammer , Paul Greifzu and Hans Stuck .

In 1952 and 1953 , Rudolf Krause took part as a private driver in the German Grand Prix at the Nürburgring , which in these two years was held according to the Formula 2 regulations. In 1952 he dropped out, and in 1953 he finished 14th.
