    America and the Pacific

Originally, the national teams of Japan, South Africa, the USA and the West Indies were supposed to take part in this qualifying tournament. South Africa and the West Indies canceled their participation, so that a single game between Japan and the USA took place. The winner of that game qualified for the repechage.
