Rugby League World Cup 2017 / Qualification

For the final round of the Rugby League World Cup 2017 , which took place between October and December in Australia , New Zealand and Papua New Guinea , seven participants were automatically eligible to start. Continental and intercontinental qualification tournaments were held for the remaining seven starting places. While eight spots were originally intended to be determined by qualifying, they were reduced by one after Papua New Guinea was designated as an additional host in 2015.
