The Rundschau is the news program of BR television . It has been aired since October 1, 1979. Originally the Rundschau was only a regional news program, it can now be received nationwide and is also intended to appeal to viewers in other federal states. The Rundschau reports the latest from Bavaria , Germany and the world.
history
At first the Rundschau only went on air in the evening. It was later expanded to include an afternoon edition. In 1991 came Rundschau magazine added that the format produces the ARD - day issues and the heute-journal of ZDF similar. The Rundschau night in 1996 went as a new format on the air, was removed from the program at the end of 2004, but will re-broadcast since 8 October of 2007. Since 2009 there is also the Rundschau-News in 100 seconds, which is also available as a smartphone app, also in the variation Bavaria . A special edition Rundschau-Extra is usually included in the program at short notice for particularly explosive current events .

For decades, the main edition of the Rundschau could be seen daily from 6:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Bavarian television. However, as part of a program reform, the Rundschau received new slots, a new studio and a new on-air design on April 11, 2016. Since then, the ARD Tagesschau at 20 o'clock in the BR television taken. This led to the fact that the Bavarian content should be strengthened in the Rundschau . Trimedial news offer
On September 21, 2015, the new online offer of the newsrooms of Bayerischer Rundfunk BR24 started . Since then, the news offers of the BR radio editors, Rundschau and online editors have been bundled under this brand. This also includes a new messaging app. On April 11, 2016, the look of the Rundschau was also adapted to the design of BR24 .
According to the newspaper publishers, including the Süddeutsche publishing house , violating the app BR24 against the Broadcasting Treaty . The plaintiff publishers object to the fact that the app is characterized by texts and photos that are not related to the broadcast. The publishers argue that fee-financed free offers from public broadcasters are not permitted under the provisions of the Interstate Broadcasting Treaty due to possible distortion of competition compared to digital news offers from the private press. The publishers therefore filed a lawsuit against Bayerischer Rundfunk with the Munich regional court.

Rundschau night
Broadcast times
The Rundschau-Nacht ends the current broadcast program of BR television on working days. The five-minute program is broadcast from Monday to Friday, usually in the night of the following day, between 11:45 p.m. and 2:00 a.m., depending on the length of the previously shown films and documentaries.
Since April 11, 2016, the Rundschau-Nacht has been broadcast live on the Internet at br24.de from Monday to Friday at 11:30 p.m. Since January 2019, the Rundschau Night is no longer presented by a moderator, but by an off-speaker.

- The 100-second Rundschau-News is broadcast from Monday to Friday at 08:28, 09:33, 11:53, 14:13 and 15:28 on BR TV.
- The unmoderated Rundschau-News and Rundschau-News Bayern are also available around the clock on the Internet on BR24 . The Rundschau news is updated daily from 6 a.m. to midnight.
Trivia
- On July 25, 1988, the Rundschau stepped in when the Tagesschau threatened to fail due to a warning strike in the editorial office in Hamburg , and was broadcast for the only time as Tagesschau from Munich throughout Germany on First German Television .
- Since April 11, 2016, BR television has also been showing the Tagesschau. The reason for this was their popularity in the BR broadcasting area.
