Russell Hornsby

Russell Hornsby (born May 15, 1974 in Oakland , California ) is an American actor .

Life

Russell Hornsby played American football when he was at St. Mary's College High School in Berkeley . However, he gave up this to act. His first theater role was in The Wiz . After graduating from high school, he attended Boston University . He then continued his studies at the University of Oxford .

After graduating, he moved to New York City and worked on Off-Broadway . In 1990 Hornsby decided to move to Los Angeles to appear in films and on television. His first role was in 1999 as Guy in Woo . In the same year, she also appeared in Law & Order . A year later he appeared briefly in the film My Bride, Her Father and I , before starring in the series Gideon's Crossing between 2000 and 2001 . 2002 followed a role in Haunted . Appearances in Grey's Anatomy (2005), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2005) and Playmakers followed . From 2007 to 2009 he was on the ABC Family series Lincoln Heights as Eddie Sutton . His career also includes guest roles in Good Wife (2010), Shameless (2011) and Suits (2011). Since 2011 Russell Hornsby has also been part of the main cast of the series Grimm . He plays the detective Hank Griffin alongside David Giuntoli , Silas Weir Mitchell and Sasha Roiz .
