Lincoln Rhyme: The Bone Hunter (Original Title: Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector ) is an American crime series based on the novel The Assistant (1997) from the Lincoln Rhyme series by Jeffery Deaver . It first aired on January 10, 2020 on NBC . The series was canceled in June 2020 after only one season.

The paraplegic forensic scientist and criminologist Lincoln Rhyme and the young NYPD policewoman Amelia Sachs have teamed up to find and arrest the legendary serial killer The Bone Hunter . They are supported by Rhyme's former partner Detective Rick Sellitto. They are also solving other NYPD cases together.

Production and broadcast
While the production of a pilot episode with the working title Lincoln was announced on January 17, 2019 , the serial order was announced on May 11, 2019. It first aired on TV in the United States on January 10, 2020 on NBC . However, the first episode was published on January 1, 2020 on the station website nbc.com , in the NBC app and on the streaming provider Hulu .
The German-language first broadcast should take place from March 31, 2020 on the German pay TV channel Sat.1 emotions . The German-language free TV first broadcast should start two days later on April 2, 2020 on the German broadcaster Sat.1 . Both channels wanted to start with a double episode. However, on March 24, 2020 it became known that delays in the German synchronized work had occurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic and that the start of series production had therefore been postponed. The new dates for the opening double episodes were May 26, 2020 (Sat.1 emotions) and May 28, 2020 (Sat.1). The German-language initial publication of the fee-based subscription video-on-demand offer Joyn Plus + has already been taking place since May 21, 2020 .
