Ruszowice ( German Rauschwitz , 1937-45 Rauschenbach ) is a village in the Polish Voivodeship of Lower Silesia , which belongs to the rural community Głogów (Glogau) in the powiat Głogowski (district of Glogau) .

Geographical location

The place is located directly on the southern city limits of Głogów (Glogau) . Surrounding villages are the districts of Głogów, Osiedle Słoneczne in the north and Osiedle Piastów Śląskich in the east, Szczyglice (Sieglitz) in the southeast, Jaczów (Jätschau) in the south, Modła (Modlau) and Kurowice (Gusteutschel) in the west and the Głogówer district Paulinów in the west Northwest.

By Ruszowice running Droga wojewódzka 292 of Głogów (Glogau) after Ścinawa (Steinau an der Oder) and the Droga wojewódzka 329 from Głogów to Polkowice (Polkowice) .

history

Ruszowice was first mentioned in 1290 as Raschowitz . In 1295 the village was listed in the Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis as Rustowicz . During the Thirty Years' War , the army of the Duke of Wallenstein was quartered in Ruszowice . In 1631 almost all of the residents of Ruszowice died of the plague .

Ruszowice came to the Kingdom of Prussia in 1742 after the First Silesian War . There the place was from 1816 to 1945 in the district of Glogau in the administrative district of Liegnitz .

There has been a cemetery in Ruszowice since 1881, and a school was built the following year . On June 7, 1905, Ruszowice and the neighboring town of Jaczów were flooded after heavy rains , after the Sępolno flowing through the town overflowed .

The German name of the place is Rauschwitz . This place name was changed in 1937 in the course of Germanization at the time of National Socialism in Rauschenbach . After the demarcation of the border in the period after World War II , the place came to the Republic of Poland as Ruszowice . Between 1975 and 1998 the place belonged to the Legnica Voivodeship , after its dissolution as a result of a territorial reform, the place came to the Lower Silesian Voivodeship . In 1999 Ruszowice became a part of the rural community Głogów in the powiat Głogowski .

The place is particularly interesting for families due to its proximity to Głogów. There is a playground and a preschool . Furthermore, new jobs will be created in Ruszowice. The mayor of Ruszowice is Helena Kośkiewicz, and Sylwester Barnaś, Ewa Ładziak and Katarzyna Molisak represent the town in the Gmina Głogów council.
