The Ruta 24 ( RN 24 for short ) is a national road in the Región de Antofagasta in the great north of Chile . In its course of 154.9 km it is completely paved and connects the Ruta 1 in Tocopilla with the Ruta 5 Arica - La Serena and from there with the Chuquicamata mine and the mining town of Calama .

It is divided into two sections. On the one hand, the poniente section (to the west) that runs from the Crucero to Tocopilla junction and the oriente section (to the east) that runs from the Crucero to Calama junction. The latter section runs in two lanes between Chuquicamata and the provincial capital of the Provincia de El Loa .
