Ruzyně is a cadastral municipality on the northwestern edge of the Czech capital Prague . It belongs to the Prague 6 district . The international airport of Prague is located in Ruzyně .

location

Ruzyně borders within the urban area in the east on Přední Kopanina , Liboc and Břevnov and in the south on Řepy and Zličín . It borders Hostivice to the west and Dobrovíz and Kněževes to the north . The Litovický potok flows through Ruzyně and is dammed in the Jiviny retention basin between Řepy and Ruzyně.

history

Ruzyně was mentioned for the first time in the founding deed of Břevnov Monastery in 993. The village belonged to the monastery until 1420, after which it became the property of the Prague citizens and, in the 16th century, the Prague burgraves . The municipality of Ruzyně was incorporated into Prague in 1960 and had almost 5700 inhabitants at that time.
