Ryan Kalil (born on 29. March 1985 in Tucson , Arizona is) a US American football poker players on the position of the Center . Most recently he was with the New York Jets in the National Football League (NFL) under contract. He played college football for the University of Southern California and won two championships. He played for the Carolina Panthers from 2007, when he was selected in the second round of the NFL Draft , through 2018 . So far he has been elected to the Pro Bowl five times . At times it was the highest paying center in the NFL.

Career

college

Kalil attended Servite High School in Anaheim , California , where he played with Matthew Slater of the New England Patriots .

From 2003 to 2007 he studied at the University of Southern California and played for the USC Trojans under Head Coach Pete Carroll . During this time the team won two national championships (2003, 2004). He was voted All-American by Sports Illustrated in 2005 and won the Morris Trophy in 2006 , among others .

Before the 2007 NFL Draft, the scouts were impressed by Kalil's performance at the Senior Bowl and the NFL Combine, and predicted that he would be elected in the first or second round. The predictions were confirmed when the Carolina Panthers selected Kalil as the 59th player in the second round. As a rookie, he only appeared in three games, but before his second season he was named a regular. In 2009 he made his first choice in the Pro Bowl . Before the 2011 season, the Panthers besieged him with the franchise tag and made him the highest-paid on 19 August 2011 Center of the NFL when he a six-year contract for 49 million US dollars signed.

Private

Kalil's father, Frank, was also a football player. He played for the University of Arkansas and the University of Arizona before being drafted by the Buffalo Bills and serving in the NFL and later in the United States Football League . Ryan's brother Matt Kalil , with whom he played at USC, was selected in the 2012 draft as the fourth player by the Minnesota Vikings and now also plays as an offensive tackle for the Panthers.
