Sønder Hygum Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) in southern Denmark . Until 1970 she belonged to Harde Frøs Herred in what was then Haderslev Amt , then to Rødding Kommune in Sønderjyllands Amt , which was merged into the "new" Vejen Municipality in the Syddanmark region as part of the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 .

975 inhabitants live in the parish, 449 of them in the parish (as of January 1, 2020). The church "Hygum Kirke" is located in the parish.

Neighboring communities are in the north Lintrup Sogn , in the north-east Hjerting Sogn and in the east Rødding Sogn , also in the neighboring Haderslev municipality in the south Fole Sogn and in the south-west Gram Sogn , as well as in the Esbjerg commune in the west Obbekær Sogn and in the north-west Kalvslund Sogn .
