The South African U-17 national soccer team is a selection team of South African soccer players . It is subject to the South African Football Association and represents it internationally at the U-17 level , for example in friendly matches against the national teams of other national associations, at the U-17 African Championships and the U-17 World Cup .

After the team had reached fourth place at the African Cup of Nations in 2005 and was eliminated in the preliminary round in 2007 , they made it to the final in 2015 . There she was defeated by Mali , but was still able to qualify for the World Cup for the first time .
