The TV 08 Willstätt is a sports club in the Baden-Württemberg community Willstätt in Ortenaukreis .

The club is known nationwide for its success in men's handball . In 1997 the club rose to the 2nd handball league . Just two years later, he was promoted to the first division . Together with TuS Schutterwald , SG Willstätt-Schutterwald was founded in 2000 . In 2003 the team was relegated to the 2nd division. The syndicate with Schutterwald was dissolved in 2005 and the team played under the name TV 08 Willstätt-Ortenau until 2008 in the 2nd Bundesliga, Season South.

For the 2008/09 season, TV 08 Willstätt brought its second division team, together with the corresponding gaming license, to the newly founded HR Ortenau team (handball region Ortenau). TV 08 Willstätt, together with TuS Schutterwald, HGW Hofweier , HC Hedos Elgersweier and TuS Altenheim, was a partner in the newly founded HRO Handballspielbetriebs GmbH , which was the economic sponsor of HR Ortenau. The syndicate was dissolved after economic insolvency at the end of the season and the team was withdrawn from playing in the 2nd division.

Regardless of the activities in the HR Ortenau, TV 08 Willstätt continued to maintain two of its own men's handball teams. The first team played in the fifth-class South Baden league. In 2010 he was promoted to the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg , in 2018 he was promoted to the 3rd division.
