The 2005-06 season was the second regular season of the Southern Professional Hockey League . The seven teams completed 56 games each in the regular season . The team with the highest points in the regular season were the Knoxville Ice Bears , who also won the President's Cup for the first time in the play-offs .
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Asheville Aces stopped gaming.
- The Macon Trax stopped the game.
- The Winston-Salem Polar Twins stopped playing.
- The Florida Seals were added to the league as an expansion team.
- The Pee Dee Cyclones were added to the league as an expansion team.
