The Saaler Mühlenbach is a creek about 7.2 km long , which rises in Moitzfeld and flows into the Frankenforstbach in Hüttenfeld .
Historically and in usage today, the area from the mouth of the Milchbornbach to the Bensberger See is also called Milchbornbach.
geography
course
The Saaler Mühlenbach rises in a meadow not far from the Platzer Höhenweg in Moitzfeld and initially flows in a north-westerly direction through the Hardt , where it flows through a pond. At the Waldstadion Milchborntal it takes up the Milchbornbach. It then flows through the district of Bensberg in order to then flow through the artificially created Bensberger See. On its way in a south-westerly direction to the confluence with the Frankenforstbach it flows through the Kahnweiher in Refrath .
Some of the stream runs in pipelines, for example in the area of the Milchborntal swimming pool , in the area of Gladbacher Straße , from Saaler Straße to Bensberger See and finally from Straße In der Taufe to the mouth. Most of the water is already fed from the Im Letsch area to the Frankenforstbach.
Catchment area
The 6.352 km² catchment area of the Saaler Mühlenbach is located both in the Bergische plateaus and in the Bergische Heideterrassen .
It borders
- in the east to that of the Sülz
- in the south to that of the Flehbach and the receiving Frankenforstbach
- in the north to that of the tributaries of the Strunde , Lerbach and Hasselbach
- otherwise to that of the receiving Frankenforstbach
Tributaries
The only tributary by name is the Milchbornbach, which flows 590 m after the source from the right.
