society

Zizzo started playing soccer with the UCLA Bruins . Between 2006 and 2007 he played 13 games in which he scored 5 goals for Orange County Blue Star in the USL Premier Development League , the fourth-highest division in the United States. As a pure amateur league, it is particularly popular with students and older schoolchildren, as they can gain experience in a football club there.

At the end of July 2007, Zizzo moved to Hannover 96 in the Bundesliga . The 1.80 m tall midfielder plays on the right wing. He wore the shirt number 37 for Lower Saxony. He played for the major part of the 2007/08 season for the league team, only on the last two match days he was also used by the professionals. On July 2, 2009, Zizzo was loaned to Fortuna Düsseldorf for the 2009/2010 season. This agreement was terminated a short time later because he had contracted stomach and intestinal flu. In October 2009 he suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament and was unable to complete the 2009/2010 season.

His contract with Hanover expired in 2010, after which he moved back to the United States and joined the CD Chivas USA .

In his first season in Major League Soccer, he completed ten games for the Chivas. On February 15, 2011, he moved to the Portland Timbers . There he stayed for the next three years and played 60 league games.

On December 13, 2013, he was passed on to Sporting Kansas City for a transfer fee . After one season, he took part in the MLS Expansion Draft for the new New York City FC franchise on December 10, 2014 . He was selected by the New Yorkers, who swapped him for goalkeeper Ryan Meara from New York Red Bulls .
