Salvatore A. Sanna

Salvatore Aldo Sanna (born December 5, 1934 in Oristano , Sardinia ; † November 21, 2018 in Frankfurt am Main ) was an Italian poet living in Frankfurt am Main . His work belongs to the so-called letteratura de-centrata , a literature that arises outside of the original culture .

Life

From 1962 to 1998 Sanna was a lecturer in Italian language and literature at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . In 1966 he founded the German-Italian Association, which he headed on a voluntary basis from 1966 to 2016. In 1979 he founded the magazine “ Italian ” together with Arno Euler , which he was co-editor of. He has published five bilingual volumes of poetry (Italian / German). In 1996 he received the Premio Pannunzio for his collection "La fortezza dell'aria". His lyrical oeuvre was published in 2004 under the title "Fra le due sponde - Between Two Shores".

He was honorary president of the Frankfurt Foundation for German-Italian Studies.
