Salvatore Visco (born July 28, 1948 in Naples , Italy ) is Archbishop of Capua .

Life

Salvatore Visco studied philosophy and theology in the seminars of Naples and Pozzuoli . received on 14 April 1973, the sacrament of Holy Orders . From 1984 he worked as a pastor in Bagnoli and then as a religion teacher in public schools. In 1994 Visco became vicar general of the Pozzuoli diocese.

On April 5, 2007, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Bishop of Isernia-Venafro . The Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops , Giovanni Battista Cardinal Re , ordained him episcopal on June 2nd of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Pozzuoli , Gennaro Pascarella , and the Bishop Emeritus of Pozzuoli, Silvio Padoin . The inauguration took place on June 24, 2007.

On April 30, 2013, Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Capua. The official inauguration took place on June 29 of the same year.
