history
The place arose during the last phase of colonization on the territory of the Neustadtl lordship at the beginning of the 18th century. The place Na Samotíně was first mentioned in 1717. It was founded by woodcutters and charcoal burners who supplied the Kadau ironworks with fuel and made the area arable. Agriculture was practiced on the cleared areas. In 1735 Samotín consisted of eight properties. At that time, the Countess von Hohenzollen had the parcels measured and laid down the compulsory labor. In 1741 four iron shafts were operated between Samotín and Blatiny. The oldest local seal dates from 1767. Mining ceased in the first half of the 19th century.
After the abolition of patrimonial Samotin formed a district of the municipality Nové Sady in the political district Neustadtl from 1850 . In 1919 Samotín became an independent municipality. During the German occupation , the partisan group Zarevo operated in the community. Samotín has been a tourist resort since the 20th century. The composer Zdeněk Blažek was one of the permanent guests . At the beginning of 1949 Samotín was assigned to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . In 1961 it was incorporated into Krátká. In 1964 the village became part of the Kadov municipality and in 1992 it became part of Sněžné . In 1991 the place had 17 residents.
