Samuel W. Reynolds

Samuel Williams Reynolds (born August 11, 1890 in Omaha , Nebraska , † March 20, 1988 ibid) was a Republican US Senator from the state of Nebraska.

Life

Since 1908 Samuel Williams Reynolds was in the wholesale of coal active in Omaha.

During the First World War he served in the Air Service , during the Second World War he was from 1942 to 1943 as Colonel the director of the Army Corps Specialist in Omaha. He was a delegate to the 1936 Republican National Convention .

In 1954, Reynolds was appointed by Governor Robert Crosby to succeed Hugh Butler as Transitional Senator for Nebraska. He refused to run for office in the election that same year and began selling coal again. He was then from 1957 to 1958 a member of the Omahas City Council .

Reynolds lived in Omaha until his death in 1988 and is buried there in Forest Lawn Memorial Park .
