Herschel Oulio Sanchez Watt (born February 14, 1991 in Hackney , London ) is an English football player of Welsh and Jamaican descent.

Career

society

Sanchez Watt was born in Hackney , London , his mother is from Wales and his father is from Jamaica . In his youth it quickly became apparent that he was a very promising talent, Arsenal FC discovered him at the age of seven at his former club Senrab FC and even the Spanish top club FC Barcelona were interested in Watt. He was originally a fan of Liverpool FC .

In July 2008 he signed his first professional contract with his teammate Rhys Murphy and completed the season preparation with the professionals. In his last year for the youth team, he only managed to win the Premier Academy League , with Rhys Murphy's 1-0 winner against Tottenham Hotspur . And a few days later he was able to celebrate winning the FA Youth Cup . After scoring a goal in the 4-1 first leg win, he also scored once in the 2-1 win in the second leg.

In the 2009/10 season he was on the bench for the first time in the UEFA Champions League match against Standard Liège in September , but was not used. On September 22, he was in the League Cup game against West Bromwich Albion for the first time in the starting line-up and even scored the 1-0 opening goal in his first official game in the 68th minute. This made Watt the 85th Arsenal player to score a goal in his debut. In February 2010, Watt was loaned to Southend United for a month . After four missions and no hit, he returned to London in March .
On March 25, he was loaned to Leeds United until the end of the season. After he was n't even part of the squad in the first game against Norwich City and only sat on the bench in the next game against Swindon Town , he made his debut in the Leeds shirt against Yeovil Town as a substitute. Against his former club Southend United Watt was also used and came against Milton Keynes Dons to his starting line-up debut and contributed two assists in the 4-1 win.

On August 3, he was loaned to Leeds United again for the new 2010/11 season , but this time for the entire season. So he came on August 7th in the 2-1 loss to Derby County to his second debut for Leeds. In the League Cup against Lincoln City, he consolidated his regular place by preparing the 2-0 through Luciano Becchio and taking out the penalty to 4-0, shot by Neil Kilkenny . During the game against Nottingham Forest Watt had an argument with Nottingham's Chris Gunter , who deliberately knocked him over. Both players received a yellow card, but Gunter was subsequently suspended for three games. During the game against Millwall FC he was voted "Man of the Match" for the first time, partly because of his technical skills, which he displayed there. On October 19, he injured his thigh during the game against Leicester City and was therefore out for some time. When Leeds drew Arsenal FC as an opponent in the FA Cup , it was initially unknown whether Watt was eligible to play this game. On January 5, 2011, Arsenal gave the clearance so that Watt could play against his current club. Against Arsenal they drew in the first leg. It was not until January 15 that he managed his first goal in the league against Scunthorpe United . At the end of the season, Leeds United announced that Watt would return to Arsenal.

In November 2011 it was loaned to Sheffield Wednesday , the loan period ended in mid-January 2012. It was then loaned to Crawley Town in late January 2012 . After Watt was loaned to Colchester United , he signed a two-year contract with the U's on June 28, 2013 .

National team

Watt played for England's U-16, U-17 and U-19 national teams. However, he still has the option to play for the Welsh national soccer team or for the Jamaican national soccer team .
