Santalha is a town and municipality in north-eastern Portugal , in the Trás-os-Montes region .
history
The current location was established in the Middle Ages and was first listed in the royal registers in 1258. King D Dinis gave the town its first town charter in 1311, which King D Manuel I confirmed and renewed in 1512 as part of his administrative reforms.
In the course of the administrative reforms after the Liberal Revolution in 1822 , Santalho became the seat of its own circle in 1836, consisting of a. a. from most of the dissolved district of Vilar Seco de Lomba . Since the dissolution of Santalha County in 1853, it has been a municipality of Vinhais.
