Vilar Seco de Lomba is a town and municipality in north-eastern Portugal , in the Trás-os-Montes region .

history

King D Dinis gave the place city rights on February 1, 1311.

In the course of his administrative reforms, King D. Manuel I confirmed and renewed the town charter on May 4, 1512.

Vilar Seco de Lomba remained the seat of an independent district, which in 1801 consisted of the nine municipalities of Edral , Frades, Gestosa, Pinheiro Novo , Quirás , São Jomil , Segirei, Vilarinho and Vilar Seco de Lomba and had 2348 inhabitants.

In the course of the administrative reforms after the Liberal Revolution in 1822 , the Vilar Seco de Lomba district was dissolved on November 6, 1836 and incorporated into the newly created Santalha district. Since its dissolution in 1853, Vilar Seco de Lomba has belonged to Vinhais.
