After playing for Freiburg's B-Juniors for almost two years in the B-Juniorinnen-Bundesliga , she made her debut in the Bundesliga on April 27, 2014 (17th matchday) : in a 4-1 home win against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim she was Substituted for Melanie Leupolz in the 77th minute . In her fourth Bundesliga game, the home game against BV Cloppenburg on June 8, 2014, she scored her first Bundesliga goal with a 6-0 goal. The game ended 7-2 for the Freiburg women. After a total of 14 Bundesliga appearances for Freiburg, Meier switched to league rivals SC Sand in the summer of 2015 . For the 2017/18 season she signed a contract with second division club Bayer 04 Leverkusen .
National team
The midfielder played for the first time for a German junior team on November 1, 2011 with the U-15 national team's friendly against Scotland. In 2013 she won the Nordic Cup in Iceland with the U-16 national team and in December of the same year she was part of the 18-strong German team that won the U-17 European Championship in England . Meier failed in the penalty shootout in the final against Spain with her penalty kick against the Spanish goalkeeper, but since her teammates scored and the Spaniards missed three penalties, Germany became U-17 European champions for the fourth time. In March 2014, she took part in the U-17 World Cup in Costa Rica , but failed with the team in the preliminary round. Meier was there in all three games for the full playing time.
