Satellite Awards / Auteur Award
The Auteur Award was created in 2005 by the International Press Academy (IPA) as a special award for the individual expression and personal influence of filmmakers on the film industry. The trophy is similar to the Satellite Award and as such was also created by the Dalmatian sculptor Ante Marinović. Both the name of the award winner and the year of the award are engraved on the base.
The IPA defines an author as a filmmaker whose unique vision, along with an unmistakable artistic influence on film production, is reflected in a personal and recognizable style of his films.

Special Achievement Award
1999-2005
Between 1999 and 2005, the Special Achievement Award was presented every two years to outstanding personalities in the film industry. The last such award that George Clooney received for his performance as an auteur established the newly created Auteur Award on the part of the IPA.
