Schönhagen is a district of the town of Pritzwalk in the Prignitz district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is three kilometers northwest of Pritzwalk. The neighboring towns are Steffenshagen in the north, Hasenwinkel in the northeast, Hainholz in the east, Pritzwalk in the southeast, Giesensdorf in the south, Voßberg and Kuhbier in the southwest, Klein Langerwisch and Neudorf in the west and Groß Langerwisch in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of Schönhagen comes from the year 1314. In it the place was recorded under its current name. From 1952 Schönhagen belonged to the Pritzwalk district in the Potsdam district .

Until 1816 the place belonged to the district of Pritzwalk in the province of Prignitz ; part of the Kurmark of the Mark Brandenburg and then came to the Ostprignitz district . Since December 6, 1993 the place is part of today's Prignitz district.
