Summit cross

Old summit cross that was damaged and had to be dismantled.

At the end of August 2016, an unknown person damaged the wooden summit cross so badly with an ax that it had to be dismantled. The alleged perpetrator had previously cut two summit crosses in the Bavarian Alps. A week later, a group of young men set up a self-made replacement cross on the summit. According to witnesses, these are said to have been supporters of the right-wing extremist Identitarian Movement . At the beginning of October 2016, the "replacement cross" was replaced by a third cross from the Tölz section of the German Alpine Club. This third cross was sawed at the end of October 2016. On November 5, 2016, the already sawn-off cross was found completely destroyed.
