Scharenstetten is a district of the Dornstadt municipality in the Alb-Donau district in Baden-Württemberg . As part of the municipal reform in Baden-Württemberg , the municipality of Scharenstetten was incorporated into Dornstadt on January 1, 1975.

The village on the Alb plateau is about six kilometers northwest of Dornstadt and can be reached via highway 1234.

history

Scharenstetten is first handed down in 1260. From 1255 to 1547 members of the von Scharenstetten family, probably mostly servants of the Counts of Helfenstein , are named.

With the county of Helfenstein, Scharenstetten was pledged to Ulm in 1382 and sold in 1396. The place formed with Luizhausen , Radelstetten and Temmenhausen an office, which in 1772 was affiliated to the office of Bermaringen of the "lower rule".

Scharenstetten came to Bavaria in 1803 and through the border treaty between Bavaria and Württemberg in 1810 to the Kingdom of Württemberg , where the place was subordinate to the Oberamt Blaubeuren . In 1870 the village was largely destroyed by fire.

During the district reform during the Nazi era in Württemberg , Scharenstetten came to the Ulm district in 1938 . In 1945 the place became part of the American zone of occupation and thus belonged to the newly founded state of Württemberg-Baden , which was incorporated into the current state of Baden-Württemberg in 1952. In 1973 the district reform took place in Baden-Württemberg , when Scharenstetten became part of the Alb-Danube district. 1975 Scharenstetten in the wake of the unification of Tomerdingen with Dornstadt district of the new community Dornstadt.
