The Schetenkopf is at least 650 m above sea level. NHN high mountain of the Rothaargebirge . It is located near Rattlar in the municipality of Willingen in the northern Hessian district of Waldeck-Frankenberg .
Geographical location
The Schetenkopf rises in the northeastern outlet of the Rothaargebirge and in the Diemelsee Nature Park . The summit of the mountain in the Upland is 1.6 km north of Rattlar and 2.2 km northeast of Schwalefeld , two districts of Willingen, and 3.4 km (as the crow flies ) south-southwest of Bontkirchen , a district of Brilon in North Rhine-Westphalia . To the west the landscape drops into the valley of the Aarbach , which flows into the Itter, which flows north of the mountain , and to the east it drops into that of the Itter tributary Dommelbach ; Along the Itter runs between Schwalefeld in the southwest and Bontkirchen in the northeast, the Hessian state road 3393, which merges into the L 800 in Westphalia.
On the eastern slope of the Schetenkopf, near a junction ( 610 m ), there is the Hermannshaus and a little below it the localities / residential areas Elmeckeplatz and In der Hege .
The neighboring mountains of the Schetenkopf include the Hegekopf (at least 641 m ) in the northeast, the Dommel ( 738 m ) in the east-northeast, the Sinzelieth ( 638.6 m ) in the east-southeast, the Hermannsberg ( 705.1 m ) in the south-southeast, the Höhekopf ( 621.7 m ) in the south, the Hegeberg ( 654 m ) in the west- south- west and the Rothekopf ( 682.1 m ) in the north-west.
Natural allocation
The Schetenkopf belongs in the natural spatial main unit group Süderbergland (No. 33), in the main unit Rothaargebirge (with Hochsauerland ) (333) and in the subunit Hochsauerländer Schluchtgebirge (333.8) to the natural area Schellhorn and Treiswald (333.82). To the south and south-east, the landscape falls into the Inner Upland (333.90) natural area , which is part of the Upland sub-unit (333.9).
Mountain height
The Schetenkopf is at least 650 m high, which refers to the top contour line that can be seen on topographic maps . On the southern part of the summit region there is a fork at the edge of the forest at an altitude of 641 m . The TF 50-WL leisure map shows a 641 m high point on the southern slope of the mountain near the summit , which presumably refers to the junction.
