The Schillig is a buoy of the fairway and Shipping Authority Weser-Jade North Sea . Since March 2013, the ship has replaced the predecessor Schillig and the Minseneroog, which was decommissioned in 2012 . The Schillig is already the third ship of the Waterways and Shipping Office with this name. The construction costs were around 12 million euros.
The buoy laying machine was put into service on March 11, 2013 in the presence of the State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Transport, Enak Ferlemann . The ship's godmother was Ulrike Wagner, the wife of the Mayor of Wilhelmshaven, Andreas Wagner .
tasks
The Schillig is a multi-purpose new building and, in addition to its main task as a buoy laying crane, can be used for transport and traffic safety tasks as well as for the recovery of obstacles. The laboratory on board can also be used to carry out hydrological tasks.
