Schlappmaulorden

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Kitzinger Schlappmaulorden is an award that has been awarded since 1989 and is presented at the ceremonial meeting of the Kitzinger Carnival Society (KIKAG eV). The order is based on a mask that once adorned a restaurant near the butterfly tower and was rediscovered in the basement of the carnival society in 1988.

The honored persons or institutions are elected by the Elferrat of the carnival club . The award certifies that the order bearers have a “wonderfully easy tongue” and the ability to “use a powerful word”. The previous winners are people from contemporary history who drew attention to themselves in the previous year through puns.

It is tradition that the medal bearer awarded last year gives the laudatory speech for each of the following awardees.
