The Schleicher ASH 31 Mi is a single-seat glider from the glider manufacturer Alexander Schleicher . It is the self-launching the successor to the ASH 26 E . Depending on the outer wing span, Martin Heide's design belongs to the 18 m class or, with a span of 21 meters, to the open class .
history
The prototype of the ASH 31 Mi with the registration D-KUSA was still under construction at the beginning of 2009 and was completely upgraded at the AERO 2009 trade fair in Friedrichshafen .
The first flight took place on April 21, 2009. Since the beginning of 2010, the ASH 31 Mi has been in series production.
construction
Parts of the ASG-29 wing are used as the outer wing. It is powered by a rotary engine from the manufacturer Austro Engine , which is equipped with a double ignition system and electronic fuel injection. The power plant is firmly mounted in the fuselage, the propeller tower can be folded in and out in flight. The propeller is manufactured by Schleicher itself.
