The Schleicher ASH 30 Mi from the manufacturer Alexander Schleicher is the self-launching , two-seater successor to the ASH 25 glider . It belongs to the open class .

history

The planning for the ASH 30 Mi began in 2006. Since the project was presented on the company website in December 2006, customer orders have been received. The project was presented to the public at the AERO 2007 trade fair in Friedrichshafen in April 2007. In May 2008, the mold construction was largely completed and there were 40 firm orders. In order to free up capacity for the ASH 30 Mi, production of the predecessors ASH 25 and ASH 25 Mi was discontinued in September 2008.

The prototype fuselage of the ASH 30 Mi with the registration D-KFSA was exhibited at the AERO 2009 trade fair . At the end of 2010, the aircraft was in the shell assembly. At the beginning of April 2011, the designer Martin Heide was able to take off for the first flight from the Wasserkuppe airfield . The EASA type certificate was issued on April 1, 2016.

construction

The aileron and flap control corresponds to that of the ASG 29 and is blown through air ducts. The wing with winglets is attached to the fuselage shoulder. The rudder slots are sealed. The profile thickness is 13%. The water tank with a capacity of 160 l, which can be partially replaced by fuel tanks, is housed in the wings.

The star wheel can be designed as a fixed or movable version. The single-wheel sprung main landing gear is retractable and can be braked with a disc brake.

The cockpit design was designed for a high level of comfort in order to improve the efficiency of the pilot during long flights. The pilot's backrest and headrest can also be adjusted in flight.

It is powered by a rotary engine from the manufacturer Austro Engine , which is equipped with a double ignition system and electronic fuel injection. The engine system is firmly mounted in the fuselage behind the cockpit, and the propeller tower can be folded in and out during flight. The propeller is manufactured by Schleicher itself.
