Schleswig-Holstein Day venues

The Schleswig-Holstein-Tag was the national festival of the German federal state Schleswig-Holstein and took place every two years from 1978 to 2012. It was brought into being by the state government at the suggestion of the Schleswig-Holstein Homeland Federation. Above all, voluntary clubs and associations were able to present themselves here.

Between 1978 and 1990 several events took place in different cities across the country, for example in Flensburg - Mürwik, where it was linked to the Solitiüdefest . Since 1992, the Schleswig-Holstein Days have been held centrally in one city; the average number of visitors to the event was over 300,000 visitors per event.

In 2013 it was announced that no further national festivals were planned for the time being. This was financially justified by the SPD. Resuscitation is repeatedly considered.

A festival that is still influenced by Schleswig-Holstein Day and its festivities is the Solitude Festival in Flensburg-Mürwik.
