The closetogel (in the AV card closetogl ) is 3497  m above sea level. A. the second highest mountain in the Stubai Alps . It is located east of Längenfeld at the end of the Sulztal , a side valley of the Ötztal in Tyrol . The north-east side of the cabinetogel is characterized by a steep firn flank down to the Schwarzenbergferner , from all other sides the cabinetogel has a rocky character.

On September 20, 1821, the botanist Hargasser climbed to just below the summit. The first ascent was made around 1840 by Pastor Schöpf.

The starting point for an ascent of the cabinetogel from the Ötztal is the Amberger Hütte ( 2135  m ) to the west . From there there are two routes that lead to the summit in about 5 hours without touching the glacier and can be combined into a round tour: A marked trail leads over the Hohe Egg ( 2820  m ), not very difficult ( UIAA I ), monotonous and only exposed at the end to the summit. The route is more varied on the orographically right lateral moraine of the Schwarzenbergferner along to the east ridge of the Wardrobe and over this well-marked and partially exposed snow, ice or rock ridge to the summit. The ascent to the Schlossogel from the Stubai Valley via the Franz-Senn-Hütte ( 2147  m ) also runs over the east ridge . This ascent requires 5–6 hours from the hut, glacier experience and appropriate equipment, as it first leads over the Alpeiner Ferner and then over the Schwarzenbergferner .

view

The free-standing mountain, which clearly towers above its immediate surroundings, provides an excellent view when the weather is right: In the east, this extends to Watzmann, Hochkönig, Dachstein, Großes Wiesbachhorn, Großglockner, Großvenediger, Dreiherrenspitze and the Dolomites (e.g. Drei Zinnen). The partly higher Ötztal Alps are to be found in the southwest and west, but between their peaks there are views of the Ortler and Bernina groups, the Piz Ela, the Pizzo Tambo 150 km away, the Tödi, the Silvretta, the Rätikon and Verwall. The cabinet bird can also be seen from Munich or Jenbach.
