The Schultiskopf is located in the highest part of the Middle Black Forest and is 1075.2  m above sea level. NHN a ridge-like secondary summit of the Obereck ( 1178.2  m above sea  level ).

Together with the neighboring Höllkopf ( 923.2  m above sea  level ) to the west, the Schultiskopf forms a 2.5-kilometer-long rock ridge, the steep slopes of which drop to the north up to 550 meters down to the Haslachsimonswälder Bach and to the south 400 meters down to the Ibichbach. A path runs over it, which leads up from Altsimonswald in the valley of the Wild Gutach ( 360  m above sea  level ) and over the Obereck reaches the Farnberg plateau , which extends between Rohrhardsberg and Brend . The Schultiskopf located in an exceptionally deep for a low mountain zertalten and sharp relief area. The surrounding valley system of the Wilden Gutach is cut to a depth of over 800 meters in this area. The ridge is mainly made up of moderately weather-resistant paragneiss . In some places, more coarse, weathered orthogneiss also strike out, where cliff formations are more common.

The high steep slopes, rich in rubble, are shaded by typical ash-maple ravine forest and on the sunny side by mixed sloping forests with a larger proportion of oak. The southern slopes of the ridge are registered as a FFH area and a bird sanctuary (October 2013). The Schultiskopf is located in the area of ​​the Southern Black Forest Nature Park .
