TrarbachThe Trarbacher Hühnerberg was mentioned as a prestigious location as early as 1897. A total of around 2 hectares are available in the Trarbacher Hühnerberg location. The areas are partially overgrown or planted with grape varieties that are not typical for the area. In the next few years these terraced areas are to be recultivated where possible or replanted with Riesling vines.
The Trarbacher Ungsberg is a vineyard in the beautiful Kautenbachtal (also called Wildbadtal), a southward side valley of the Moselle near Traben-Trarbach.
It is a pure steep slope. The soil, blue slate, the pure southern exposure and the very protected disposition in the "concave mirror - the terroir -" determine the wines. Since there is no continuous path above and below the vineyard, the processing is particularly difficult. This part of the Ungsberg has been idle for almost 10 years. It is now to be reactivated through Rebstock sponsorships. |
